Diaper Party Favor – Fill a little tissue diaper with yummy nuts or candy to make a cute baby shower treat. You can tie some with ribbon and hang them on a “clothesline” for decoration. Or, place one at each seat on the table to show where everyone sits. So fun and easy to make!
Materials Needed:
- 1 Royal Lace® medallion doily
- ruler
- safety pin
- ribbon(optional)
Directions:
How to Fold a Doily into a Pretty Triangle Shape
First, put the doily face down on a table so it’s nice and flat. Now, look at the edge and make a little mark 2½ inches in. Fold one side up to make the first part of a triangle. Then fold the next side to make the second part. Fold the last side to finish the triangle shape. Now open the doily up again. Start folding the sides back in, one by one, like turning a wheel. Let them overlap a little. Tuck the last edge under the first one to keep it in place. Next, fold in the right and left corners so they touch. Then fold the bottom corner up and pin all the corners together with a safety pin. You did it!
- Place doily face down on a flat surface
- To make the triangular base, make a mark 2-1/2” in from the edge of the doily (FIG. A)
- Using the mark as a reference point, fold up as shown to make one side of a triangle (FIG. B)
- Next, fold an adjacent side as shown to form the second side of a triangle! (FIG. C)
- Fold remaining side to complete the triangle.
- Open the doily up, then fold each side back in, moving in a clockwise direction, so the sides overlap (FIG. D)
- To secure, tuck the edge of the last side under the edge of the first folded side (FIG. D)
- Fold right and left corners in so they overlap slightly (FIG. E)
- Fold bottom corner up to overlap other two and pin all three together with a safety pin (FIG. F)
