Fan Potpourri
Fan Potpourri
The Fan Potpourri is a charming way to combine beauty and fragrance in a handmade decoration. Start by nesting two Royal Lace® medallion doilies for added strength, then place a small amount of potpourri with whole dried flowers in the center. Gather the doilies into a fan-like shape and secure them with white floral wire or thick white thread. Add a satin ribbon for a decorative finish. A touch of craft glue or a glue gun will help hold everything in place. Perfect as a scented accent for drawers, gifts, or party favors.
Materials Needed:
- 1 Royal Lace® medallion doily – thickness of 2 nestled doilies work best
- Potpourri (with dried whole flowers)
- Satin ribbon ½ (cut to size, as needed)
- White floral wire or thick white thread
- Craft glue or glue gun
Directions:
- Fold nestled doilies in half (FIG. A)
- Loosely fold, accordion style, gathering at center. Fasten by either wrapping with floral wire or stitching with heavy thread (FIG. B)
- Glue a loop of ribbon between doily edges at top and glue ribbon streamers at base of fan (FIG. C)
- Arrange and glue potpourri over the middle (FIG. D)
Hang in kitchen, bath or bedroom for a pretty and fragrant decorative touch!
